About the role

This key role works with our donor relations team to express our thanks and connect with donors who have made a recent donation. This position requires the team member to make phone calls and interact with donors while being attentive to details, maintaining a positive attitude and providing excellent customer service. As needed, this team member will pray with people on the phone for the requests they have, as well as connecting them with ministry resources related to their situation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Outbound customer service calls
  • Taking prayer requests and occasionally praying with callers on the phone
  • Updating and maintaining accurate donor records in our database
  • Documenting phone calls and their outcome in our database

As the ideal candidate, you have a high school diploma, or equivalent, and customer service experience. Strong organizational and task management skills, with a respect for timelines and deadlines and the ability to prioritize tasks are critical to success in this role. Must have a high attention to detail, strong oral communication skills and be fluent in English. You have a demonstrated aptitude for learning new software, the ability to type at a reasonable speed (about 40+ wpm) and be comfortable talking on the phone for extended periods of time. You are self-motivated with a willingness to be held accountable to weekly targets.

This position is a temporary three-month contract position with an expectation of working 24 hours per week. A willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed is an asset, not including evenings or weekends.

Above all, this important role requires an individual who maintains a consistent witness for Jesus Christ and a courteous, Christlike attitude in dealing with people within and outside Focus on the Family Canada by adhering to our Standards of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith.
